POST 9: FREE POST

The Idea of Progress

Social Networks in our everyday life

This video is a collaboration between youtubers Taryn Southern and JustAnotherProductionProductions that talks about the perks of technological progress in love life.

This video is about a blind date that started on Tinder, application that gets you to meet single people in your area and decide if you like them or not to go on a date.
So these two people met on tinder and started their date looking at their phone, talking about how much they like each other through their phones, but still without looking at each other! Through the conversation, they realize they don't like the same social networks and they start insulting each other, still looking at their phone. Finally, the women leaves the table without giving the men a single look, and vice versa.

I think this video is a perfect way to show the paradox of the society we live in, and it looks a little like a funny version of "Look Up", telling us in a funny way that phones and social noetworks are completely keeping us away from the real world. Also, we can see these two people are completely addicted and almost mad about their social networks, which we can relate to our previous document "Internet Anonymous".
This video is really well made because it can be applied to all kind of situtation or all kind of technology addiction, and the little plus for me is the alternative ending by Taryn Southern which i find really cute and actually more striking then the first ending.
